Construction Code Official
The City of Burlington is seeking a full-time or part-time Construction Code Official preferably with an HHS Building Subcode Official license. Additional multi-discipline licenses of the appropriate level (HHS, ICS, or RCS) are a plus. This position is provisional, pending the New Jersey Civil Service examination process.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the State’s Uniform Construction Code and will oversee the administration of all Subcodes within the City. The Construction Official will also serve as the Chief Administrator of the enforcing agency including but not limited to the duties described in NJAC 5:23-4.5(h). As the Building Subcode Official, will enforce the provisions of the adopted Building Subcode including but not limited to the duties described in NJAC 5:23-4.5(i). Other duties not specifically listed herein or within the civil service job description may apply.
REQUIREMENTS
License: Applicants must possess a valid Construction Official License and, if applicable, Building Subcode certifications (RCS), (ICS) and (HHS). Must also possess a valid NJ driver’s license.
Background Check: Selected candidate will be subject to a physical examination and criminal background check
Residency Requirement: NJ PL 70 (NJ First Act) requires all State and Local employees to reside in New Jersey unless exempted under the law.
