If YES, we have a great opportunity for a Direct Care Professional who is passionate, kind and has an interest in working 1-on-1 with individuals with special needs!
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) effectively provides direct care support to program participants with developmental disabilities and special needs in all areas of adult daily living.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure services include case records, Individual Habilitation Plans, behavior plans and recommendations. DSPs are required to properly develop, implement and document all required information pertaining to direct care in compliance with Federal and State standards and Easterseals policy and procedures.
- Provide direct support to persons receiving services in the facility including but not limited to: transportation, feeding, use of bathroom transfers and other personal hygiene needs, assistance with ambulation, monitoring and/or administering medications and assisting with activities of daily living such as cooking, cleaning and social interactions.
- Ensure that services delivered include the eight dimensions of wellness (e.g. spiritual, emotional, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, environmental and financial)
- The DSP will also be responsible to maintain all medical appointments and recommendations for each consumer.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED at a minimum
- One year of experience as a DDD Direct Support Professional or equivalent preferred
- Technically astute and comfortable working on various systems
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to problem-solve and follow through on assigned tasks
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel, persons receiving services, their families and the general public
