High School Language Arts Teacher
The job of "Teacher - Classroom (Secondary)" is done for the purpose/s of developing students' academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
Full-time or Part-time
Depending on the candidate this could be full or part-time.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum, Secondary Education, Content Area (Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Economics, Geography, Biology, Physics, Reading, or similar).
- Valid Oregon Teaching License and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
- Must hold a current recognized first aid card or be willing to obtain same if directed by the district under ORS 342.664 (2).
- Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
- • Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Valid Oregon Teaching License - Content Subject Endorsed
Endorsed in areas of assigned teaching: High School Language Arts, Math, Advanced Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology Social Studies, Science, World Languages, Physical Education, Ag Science, CTE eligible.
- Holds and maintains an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability
- Successfully pass district background screening.
Primary Location: Mitchell School District
Salary Range: $36,885 - $63,443 / Annual
