That’s why we provide equal employment opportunities (EEO). IN A NUTSHELL…

As a Marketing Manager, you will be primarily responsible for driving revenue in the market through product and promotion strategic leadership, new product development strategies, onsite and offsite event oversight, awareness and conversion campaigns, and new patient or consumer acquisition. You will be the voice and advocate for our patients and/or customers. You will know local competition better than anyone, relentlessly seeking ways to attract more patients and/or customers and drive more revenue.

This role is highly collaborative and requires creative problem solving, strong communication skills, personal initiative, and leadership skills. This role requires marketing operations experience, project management skills, and a strong understanding of product marketing and consumer insights. Your personal success will be evident by the business growth and customer satisfaction you are able to achieve in the market. This role is highly autonomous and will require a high level of strategic and organizational leadership.

Parallel is one of the largest multi-state cannabis companies in the United States, owning and operating in three markets; Florida (Surterra Wellness), Massachusetts (NETA), and Texas (Goodblend). If you enjoy companies that are growing, moving fast, and constantly challenging themselves to achieve more, then Parallel is for you. We work hard, lean on each other, and are passionate about a pretty ambitious vision … pioneering a new paradigm of what well-being can be for all people, everywhere.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Single Point of Contact for Product Marketing. You will know the local consumers and trends in those markets better than anyone. Leverage data to uncover insights and opportunities which will inform marketing campaigns and the market product roadmap.
  • Competitive Expert. Know the competitive landscape and respond quickly to any competitive changes with data-backed recommendations. Track new products, product quality and pricing in your market and inform leadership of observations and opportunities. You will spend a lot of time ‘in the field’ to be able to provide firsthand knowledge.
  • Data Analyst and Reporter. Provide routine reporting to ensure visibility to market dynamics as well as the progress and success of internal initiatives. These will include:
    • Monthly business reviews
    • Competitive updates
    • Post launch analyses on product launches.
    • Consumer research and surveys that gather feedback and produce actionable insights
    • Product and innovation opportunities and roadmaps
  • Product Ideator and Customer/Patient Advocate. We believe strongly in the benefits of cannabis and expect that you will too. You aren’t expected to formulate new gummies or design new vapes, but you will be the voice of our customers who have a variety of needs. Combined with competitive insights and consumer data, you should be a vocal advocate for what will work well in the market.

MARKET-SPECIFIC CONTEXT & RESPONSIBILITIES

NETA (Massachusetts)

NETA is a foundational dispensary in MA, having launched both the first Medical and Adult Use on the east coast. But competition has expanded like crazy, the market has gotten very crowded, and maintaining/strengthening the voice and value of the NETA brand in that challenging environment is priority #1. You will collaborate closely with retail teams across the state to ensure that you have the latest insights and understand any new or meaningful opportunities for our brands to connect with customers.

Goodblend (Texas)

Texas is a very challenging regulatory environment for legal cannabis. Product offerings and dosage are heavily regulated by the state, and limited awareness of the legal medical marijuana program is a significant barrier to overcome. You will be closely connected to internal and external stakeholders, as well as compliance and regulatory partners to develop a deep understanding of current market regulations, continually monitoring potential regulatory changes and their impact on our products, packaging and ability to effectively compete.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING

  • 3-5 years of brand, marketing and business leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other related fields and/or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics software and comfort learning new digital marketing/CRM platforms like AlpineIQ
  • Track record of success in simultaneously managing and supporting multiple complex creative projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent presentation capabilities
  • Familiarity with the market you will be supporting, and willingness to engage with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders
  • Comfortable with tight timelines and have demonstrated successes in either reprioritizing to get the work done, or raising flags on unachievable delivery targets ASAP
  • Cannabis, pharmaceutical, and/or regulatory experience are valuable but not mandatory.
  • Age 21 or over (Industry Requirement)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Industry Requirement)
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Industry Requirement)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel 40-60% to our cultivation, production, and retail locations within the designated market as well as other company markets.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50-75% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Frequently communicates with other employees/customers. Must be able to exchange accurate, timely information in these situations.

YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU…

  • Are self-motivated; micro-managing isn’t fun for anyone.
  • Roll your sleeves up and do the work; strategy is important, but so is getting stuff done.
  • Can work fast and be flexible; our industry is always changing.
  • Play nice with others; we collaborate with each other a lot.
  • Think creatively; sometimes, the “traditional” solution isn’t the best one.
