CMA – PCI Corridor Urology

The Physicians Clinic of Iowa Corridor Urology Department is seeking a full-time CMA for its busy practice. This individuals’ primary duties will be patient care and assisting providers.  This position will also handle clerical functions of the office.

Duties include but not limited to:

• General nursing duties including rooming patients, obtain vital signs and other pertinent patient data; update accurately in EMR/EHR system
• Draw blood for laboratory examination, collect urine samples, and catheter care
• Prepare and administer injections
• Assist providers with in-office procedures as needed
• Coordinate and schedule surgeries with patients, hospitals, and physician’s schedule; adjust accordingly
• Schedule labs, radiology studies, and EKG’s when indicated
• Schedule pre-admission surgical appointments if indicated
• Assist with scheduling appointments with family physician, cardiologist, or any referring physicians if appropriate
• Work with Prior Authorization team to obtain insurance authorizations for diagnostic testing and surgical procedures.
• Assist with front desk duties (register patients, answer phones) and other clerical duties. 

Requirements:

• Prefer applicants with experience in medical office performing similar functions.  
• Current certification required.  CPR certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• The successful candidate must be able to provide the highest level of customer service to patients, physicians, and all practice personnel.
• Ability to work well with others is a must.
• Applicants should possess excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills and possess a professional image.
• The ability to be flexible with workplace duties is a must.   
• The leading candidate must also have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems and possess an orientation to detail and organization.
