Executive Director (ED)
The Wildwood (NJ) Housing Authority (WHA) seeks a highly qualified Executive Director (ED) to lead and manage the authority's operating and capital fund budgets of $2 million, a portfolio of 170 Public Housing units and a staff of 5 full-time and 3 part-time employees. The WHA offers Assisted Living and Congregate Food Services programs, both of which are outsourced to a vendor. The authority also has a large commercial client on its property which offers income-based primary medical and dental care.
The ideal candidate for this High Performing authority will have a proven track record of excellent management, organizational and interpersonal skills. They will be well versed in HUD rules and regulations and operating procedures. The ED will be expected to lead the WHA's modernization and redevelopment efforts. The successful candidate will also be expected to identify non-HUD funds, grants, and other revenue streams to supplement WHA programs.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Five years of senior management experience in public housing, a related regulatory agency, or an equivalent combination of education and training is also required. Experience resulting in the ability to fulfill the essential job duties of the position or progressive top-level experience and education equivalent will be recognized.
The successful candidate must secure the Public Housing Manager's Certification from a bona fide Public Housing Manager Certification Program and complete the mandatory New Jersey Housing Authority Executive Director Training Program within 1 1/2 years of hire, or other allowable period as authorized by the Board of Commissioners.
