Pending budgetary approval, The Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh seeks candidates to fill a position as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor specializing in History and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Neuroscience.

Required Qualifications: (1) A Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science, Philosophy, or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date; (2) a promising research agenda in History and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Neuroscience, and (3) exhibit interest in integrating history and philosophy of science as well as in-depth knowledge of the science or sciences relevant to their research.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate and graduate teaching, and regular departmental duties.

Applicants should submit a CV (including a research statement), at least three letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching excellence, and a writing sample. All letters of recommendation should be sent to Matt Ceraso at mrc118@pitt.edu. Letters of recommendation for senior candidates will be requested at a later date.

In addition, applicants should provide a brief personal statement that addresses their contributions to diversity through research, teaching, service, and/or community engagement. Please mention any past contributions as well as any planned or potential contributions.
